while walking i got to thunkin agin , PL presentation was not slick or great body language as has been pointed out here...i have studied it , the facial , delivery , ease with speech and i have concluded even tho he was 8 out of 10 imo he is not a professional public relations man
this is a good thing because thats not his role , his job is more important than pr b/s , others are slicker in their delivery , there the ones to watch real close....henry kay , enron , mfs , the list is endless .
i have in the past judged ceos mds ect ( to my cost ) on their looks , percieved education , dress sense ,general style , vocab and other neferious things....then i twigged , why do i expect an oil driller , mineral miner , ect to look and sound like a oxford scholar , all im now interested in is can they find what they are lookig for , the rest is nothing more than window dressing
what is more important is what he said....he was at pains to point out the risk / reward...dont mortgague the house , but the biggest thing he said imo was that within a fairly short time frame RRS would be looking for a take over
the way it was mentioned , with a bit of reading between the lines , i would not be too surprised if feelers both ways may be in the offing...this may not be good for us holders as in a t/o before the cake is cooked might be a tad premature thus not extracting full value , but PL did overly stress the risks imo.....were we being softened up in advance ? i dunno just found it strange he pushed the risk factor so much .....sus bastard aint i ?
well if it happened and the price was right , i spose im prepared 'to come on down' and do a deal....but not yet , got 11 months to go under cgt rules.....does the 12 months count with a takeover or is it still first on first off ?....they change the rules that often i forget
