Pecs, about the only thing that alludes to the Greek plays is that Zimbabwe is a tragedy and the ancient greek poets and dramatists dealt with tragedies almost exclusively. A slight comparison might be made of Mugabe and Oedipus (rex) because bith men came into their countries (Thebes for Oedipus) as heroes and left as defilers of that country. Both countries were devastated because of their own sins. I think that's about it.
But a poster, there, theseus, took a little issue with me on what sort of a character was Achilles to which I responded just now, pointing out that his memory must have played a few tricks on him. I don't know how long it will be before the post will be added but I found Roger Sandall's essay and the many responses he got, enormously interesting.

The West has very dirty hands in this, going right back. Mugabe returns the "pointing of the finger." The Zimbabweans of course are caught in the middle of two sides that have locked themselves into an irreversible and brutal path.
