Epunter is probably referring to the modern day Hercules Mining who operate in the area (they took their name from the old timers). For info, one of the guys who takes the tour of the Long Tunnel Mine - Sherriff (spelling?) - is an employee of the modern day Hercules business. I understand they offer drilling services among other things.

Presumably, being local, they are engaged by GDR to do some of their drilling.
