Look don't judge these guys by the square km's they have or have not.Not every square inch of the Pilbara is mineral rich,pegging ground up here is just like a lottery.

The 3rd biggest open cut mine in the world is BHP's mt Whaleback in Newman 5.5km x 1.5km x.350m deep.The biggest open cut operation will be BHP's Olympic dam which will probably be double the size of MT Whaleback once completed.

Mt Whaleback = 8.25 sqkm's
Olympic Dam = 16.5 sqkm's

Flinders Hammersly tenement is approx 80sqkm's
almost 5x the size of the largest open pit mine on the face of the earth!!!
