The so called 'stuck between a rock and a hard place' dilema of deciding between higher inflation or recession is something that the western central banks have created themselves.
Somehow the 'lets slash interest rates' policy might not work too much, just check the US. And imagine what a dilema it is over there? Imagine having saved money over the years to then have a central bank put interest rates below the level of inflation (even below offical levels)!!! The federal reserve has clearly made a statement saying that all those who save are Losers. Somehow i doubt its very easy to solve their economic problems when the populce has no money.
It is a certainty that those who dont/havnt positioned themselves against what the central banks have created are certain to have their standard of living eroded.
A huge gap between the 'have's' and 'have nots' has been created in Australia over the past 10-15years. Too bad that a lot in the 'haves' will probably move down to the 'have nots' in the not too distant future - and they dont even know it.
