The building insurance system in Australia has always been a con job
It appears to have been an effort by the government to distance themselves from problems that they are actually responsible for
These buildings will just be the tip of the iceberg (as someone else posted)
In Victoria we have the State government paying billions of taxpayer dollars for the replacement of cladding (after about 10 years of delays)
When you have private inspection firms and council inspectors straight out of school with no experience of construction, just what they read in a book you are going to continue to have these problems into the future
Maybe it will get so bad that no one will be able to sell a high rise unit in Australia new or used, then you may see some action ??
