In my view both JV partners would be keen to get the CTP up and running in order to take advantage of the strong Aussie gold price cycle. From media reports NST is also interested in acquiring either 50% or 100% of the Kalgoorlie Super Pit. Given past transactions have shown a preference for equity rather than debt, if successful, NST would probably go the placement route and would no doubt like their SP as high as possible to minimise dilution.

By confirming CTP commencement NST go from 40% to 75% equity almost doubling their resource share to 2 million ounces it would further contribute close to 120,000 ounces of annual production which would allow NST to become a million ounce producer in 2020...I think this would certainly be positive for NST's SP as I don't think the market is really giving them much credit for this potentially large and high grade deposit.

Keep in mind that Bill Beaumont stated in July 2015 "Central Tanami is an outstanding high-grade project which will form a key part of Northern Star's pipeline of emerging production assets" and went on to say "confident that central Tanami would quickly become a low-cost producer with a long mine life". Since then the Aussie POG has risen from $1,500 to $2,000 and there has been no negative news release so I think its reasonable to conclude they are still very positive on the project.
