You just saluted all your fellow "trapped holders", and in the same breathe you're blaming faceless pumper-dumpers? Face the reality, dude. "Trapped holders" are exactly what is holding this stock back. You, me, mbenz, PG, all of us had or will have a hand in suppressing the SP when we sell.
When the first lot of "trapped holders" unceremoniously exited the stock, the SP tanked from 4.7c to the low 3c (can't remember exact price). When that happened, a lot of other trapped holders, along with new traders that jumped in during the run, must have thought it a good idea to put on trailing Stop Losses (extremely bad idea when too many people do that at the same time!). I also venture a guess that this event had an effect on the buyers: Surely that made it clear to them that there were a lot of trapped holders just waiting to unleash into the bids, meaning a lot of cheap shares to be had?
From that first wave "exodus", you can see the buying strategy change. Buy volumes would wipe out offer lines, and immediately supported by big bids at slightly lower prices. They were waiting for people to sell into the bids.
Then the crash. Just before the crash, there was defintely deliberate small sell orders attempting to push the price down a few pips. Genuine small retailers exiting, or genuine tree-shaking to trigger all those juicy Stop Losses? The next move made it clear what it was.... once the crash hit, all those supporting bids were moved to much lower prices. If you set a stop loss at 6c, you might've sold your shares at 5c instead even though the SL triggered at 6c. That's how you get burned by a Stop Loss, and burn everyone else on the same boat as well actually!
From a small time player's perspective like me, there's really not much we can do but go with the flow. People are people, SLs will always be set, and they will always be susceptible to tree-shaking. I reckon, from that crash, most people here must have set extremely tight SLs... maybe 5% - 10%.
