I got the feeling that you are missing something.... Yes they have lost the case about the gold asset, but CIO is not a mining company, LRR ( Leopard resources )was before wast taken from G8C witch become CIO after at the acquisition of Connected IO.
The gold asset was taken away because basically CIO is not using it, and it has nothing to do with their business model.
There are many company not Mining related that has assets as they acquire rundown junior miner for easy way to get listed on the ASX, NUH has a gold asset too and like NUH many others.
I believe you are focussing on the wrong thing. I do agreed that it would have been nice to be able to keep the asset and sell it.
CIO is a good business model in a very uptrend sector that keeps on expanding.
CIO it's very undervalue there no other company that I am aware of on the ASX that have CIO MC like and revenue coming in and less the 1.5 mill deb.
Other company at this level they are making no money, they have above 10 millions in deb.
