Reality is brokers need to make money like all of us and they have the power to manipulate minor swings while the main game is not in play. And for 98% of the time the main game (i.e. major news like resource upgrades or farm or production) is not happening for an explorer like IVZ.
Once it does it's a different ball game and manipulation wont work.
Just ignore these swings and roundabouts while you wait for the main spectacle. I jumped a little early on this one because I think the potential is big enough while my MO is normally to wait until the move up is confirmed. But once in there seems little point to worry about this side show as it does not affect the final score.
