Route 1 looking very much the preferred long term option. Barging distance is short from Kalemie. then rail straight to port. Also noting the recent proposal for expansion to the port at dar es salaam.

But they have the option to of a secondary transport route of trucked material through Pweto to Nseluka. I imagine the bottle neck in the system would be the barged option, so the secondary road option through Pweto make logical sense.

@Dr_Manhattan I know you were fairly across the condition of the roads/rail and also the road upgrades progress by CREC.

Can you weigh in on the recent port upgrades and also indicate what your current thoughts are regarding most likely/viable immediate and long term transport options.
