What exactly does it mean that all things were created through him ? ---------------- Jehovah as the Creator designed all things for certain functions according to his purpose. Inanimate things have no input into the role they play. Animals play a role being directed by instinct. Both humans and spirit creatures have the capacity to learn from and imitate their Creator to varying degrees. This includes the capacity to manufacture things. Jesus capacity far exceeds that of all others in that he was enabled to be the one through whom all things animate and inanimate were created. Here is a simple example of Jehovah doing something through Jesus. (Luke 5:17) On one of those days while he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the Law who had come out of every village of Galʹi·lee and Ju·deʹa and from Jerusalem were sitting there; and Jehovah’s power was with him to do healing.
Jehovah did the healing through Jesus. In a similar way Jehovah empowered Jesus to be the one through whom He would create all other things.
Because of being created in God's image all intelligent creation has the capacity and obligation to recognize their existence came from Jehovah and thus it is to him alone we must render sacred service. (Matt 4:10) (Revelation 4:11) “You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.”
