Appointment of new Managing Director


MKY Corporation Ltd (ASX Code – MKY) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Stephen McCaughey to the position of Managing Director, effective 14 July 2008. Mr McCaughey will replace Alan Fitzpatrick who has resigned effective the same date.
Stephen is an Exploration Geologist with 19 years experience including 14 years with BHP. Most recently he was Exploration Manager for Aura Energy (AEE) where he has led the exploration effort across Australia, Africa and Sweden, and in particular, specific uranium exploration programs.
Mr McCaughey has a broad range of experience, with project experience ranging from strategic project generation and greenfields exploration through to development evaluations, feasibility of brownfields discoveries, joint venture negotiations and project acquisition due diligence.
Mr McCaughey has worked in South America (Chile and Peru), throughout Australia, Africa and Europe and has experience with most mineralization types and provinces. He has a proven track record of exploration success having led the exploration team responsible for several significant Cu- Au discoveries in the Tintaya Cu province of Peru.
Stephen is a first class Honours graduate in geology from Monash University and has an MBA from Melbourne Business School. He has spent time in Strategy Consulting with a top tier consulting firm and in Banking and Finance with one of the major Australian banks, both of which add breadth and depth to his already considerable exploration experience.
MKY recently announced that it was progressing negotiations for the acquisition of several highly prospective bauxite projects (subject to necessary approvals). Stephen’s initial focus will be to progress the necessary approvals for this proposed transaction, the continued uranium exploration program and identification of additional appropriate projects.
