There's a higher probability of a heavyweight buying into sdl and funding the project. Rather than sdl debt funding it themselves. An existing major such as bhp/rio/cvrd already has ample cash on the balance sheet so the credit crisis is irrelevant - it would come doen to project dynamics - how much iron ore is in the ground and how much it is worth.
