The size of the unit being the problem was not mentioned in their report so I dont know what you've based your statement on.

Granted, storage losses are less due to ambient surface area to volume ratios in a larger unit. But this is not about storage losses. They are yet to get it to 1414 degrees for phase change using biogas, only 1350 degrees so far. They are experimenting on changing the characteristics of the silicon to lower its melting temerature and I remain positive their work will deliver for us all, but it adds to the time to commercialization.
