Australia is on its way to become very much like Europe and Africa, where we'll end up with individual type of nations and economies. The way NSW and Victoria are going, what with their dept and imploding industries, I can see a mass exodus where individuals and families leave these states to head off to where the money is - Perth and the NT. Most factories in the S/E states are either closing, scaling back or just simply importing from China. Where's the money gonna come to feed these dept ridden states? The retail industry? Only if people had money to service that sector! Housing? Only if people had incomes to service their dept. Migrants? They'll divert to where the money is, which is the mining states. Victoria and NSW will become the poorest states where many suburbs will simply become unlivable due to their isolation from any form of industry. Fuel costs will add the finishing blow.
