The article talks about some of the risks associated with UCG. Not good press for the UCG sector. It mentions LNC and Carbon energy (MEE). I believe that these risks like contamination of the groundwater are what the government agencies look for when the company conducts the trial burn. I remember LNC saying that they had to deal with 27 different government agencies but this was fast tracked when they got awarded the significant project status. So I guess the process is fairly thorough and LNC successfully completed the trial burn 1999 - 2002 at Chinchilla, so I guess that risk is behind us for Chinchilla. I don't know what the chance is for succussful trial burns in other locations. Take it one at a time I guess.
