Something just occurred to me in reading this. If they stopped drilling after 8 metres because of the blowout, then added the appropriate amount of mud before they continued drilling, then how come the rest of the hole down to 74 metres was damaged so they couldn't get the wireline logging done properly?

I would have thought that the damaged section was limited to only the top 8 metres, not the rest they had not drilled.

Does this seem to be a bit strange to the oil and gas people here?? How was the rest of the section below the first 8 metres damaged?? They hadn't drilled it until after putting in the heavier mud??

Can someone please explain this if I have it all wrong??
