Lekki, Vlad, Robb, I sense a distinct change of sentiment over the last 2-3 days with respect to financials v resources. Thanks Freddie and Fannie. Consensus is that financials too risky yet.
Shane Oliver from AMP said on Inside Business this morning that over the next 12 months resource profits will go up, while industrials are likely to go down.
If there were to be a recession, it would be worse that 1991, but he believes we will narrowly avoid it.
As for Monday's open? Not hazarding a guess, as the local market responds even more irrationally to the US than the US does to itself...
In US, only Alcoa and GE reported -- but next week there's a swag of them, so could be a bumpy time.
Let's be careful out there.
