I called into the Newcastle plant several times while they were building the roaster......it probably took about 3 months.......it was bespoke made.

It was made as a result of all the experience in the ironsands project for NZ Steel.

If it has performed to specification as they say, then it is an excellent outcome.

Remember that the 3 month time period was entirely due to lack of available funds....drawings were produced....they bought some surgical grade stainless steel ($3000 a sheet).....and had a capital raising to professional investors.......they then had the steel rolled and bought some pipe......and had a capital raising to professional investors.......they welded it together.......and had a capital raising to hire the crane to position it in the building.

I think you get the main idea......they had a vision and never gave up.

I posted on the subject some 2 ?...3 ? years back........the inside configuration is most interesting.
It was all done by one man.

SO.....now that they have the plans and money for manpower....and assuming no major modification necessary........and allowing upscaling to a commercial size I would guess that it would take 3 months.
