I can't really comment on why STX hitting overpressured gas excited the market while CTP hitting overpressured gas didn't. You'd have to ask the market. I assume STX is viewed as a nearology play to Waitsia.
As for why STX was able to up the mud weight and keep drilling, as I said it likely comes down to safety tolerances. The overpressure at Dukas may be significantly higher or the rock at the casing shoe may be weaker, or STO may have concerns about mud losses.
