Toyota along with Panasonic have been saying for quite some time their goal is to showcase a solid state lithium battery to coincide with the 2020 Olympics. With the expertise those companies have put into development, I don't believe it's an unattainable goal. It would be highly embarrassing for them not to succeed.
As for mass production ramp up, well that could take another year or two.
I don't expect that SS technology will make Lithium-Ion batteries instantly redundant. It would seem likely that Li-ion will continue to be used for low end vehicles for many years to come and that tech will continue to be developed. We see examples right now of a mix of older battery tech and NCM811 and the like in current EV production.
With the Capex that has been sunk into Li-ion production its not like those facilities will be bulldozed.
