It bears repeating - this is not a new thing that LNC are doing. The CTL bit was developed in Germany during WW2 and the UCG bit has worked in Russia since about the same timeframe. All that is new is doing it in Australia.

I can't see any reason why it won't work, and being one of the first movers in CTL is a great place to be. Every country in the world with an ounce of coal will be rolling this tech out over the next decades.
