I agree with analyst99, I think the sheer size of the resource that MXR could announce will blow everyone's socks off but at the same time, the capex will be significant, ie, in the $2bn vicinity but I'd also expect that they will fund most of the capex from a combination of a JV partner from Asia and a smaller amount from a capital raising. There's no point having a large resource to mine and no money to produce and then sell it. MXR will be no different than other emerging iron-ore companies like Atlas, Fortescue, Mt Gibson, Murchison, Aurox, Cape Lambert and CITIC, etc.
The difference will be the annual tonnage and the quality I hope.
The capex will depend on the scale, that is, 1mt p/a or 10mt p/a or 50 m/t p/a or somewhere in the between.
If MXR does a deal with one of the large internationals and secures funding for the capex, it will add considerable value to MXR I hope. Fingers crossed. Bring on the September resource announcements.
