I contacted the Botanix today looking for a few clarifications on the announcement and have included my interpretation to the questions below. Happy for anyone to clarify my thoughts or provide further details.

1) In relation to the development of product candidates leveraging the antimicrobial properties of cannabidiol, are these products directly related to ongoing testing with BTX 1801, or are there additional antimicrobial products being developed?

Candidates are BTX1801 and AB2367. Impression received was they will look at the quickest path to market, which is in part dependent on regulators requirements for phase testing etc. If regulators deam the requirements for finding a treatment for MRSA (for example) can be expedited in lieu of necessity, then clinical studies/funds will be leveraged towards BTX1801. (that's also my unprofessional mildly sized gut feeling)

2) Is it necessary to undertake phase 1 and 2 studies for BTX 1801? I recall full phase 1 and or 2 testing may not be necessary due its similarity in trial method, product composition and or application as the Acne trial currently in progress?

Phase 2 studies are necessary! Similarities in trial method, product composition and or application to current studies underway, may assist in a reduction of procedures necessary to fulfill regulatory requirements during studies.

3) From the announcement "first products are planned to enter the clinic in 2H CY2019." Is this indicating trial products entering the clinic or approved products for use?

This is products entering the clinic on a trial basis.
