While I do not see a shut down as positive for anyone, I do see a cartel relationship formed by the largest producers globally as beneficial. I also think this cartel should form some sort of exploration alliance, in which sites of potential are bought, explored and given to auction for members within the group on a global scale.
This would shut the Chinese out from trying to keep prices low by flooding the market with their own resources which I would expect as plan B should the current strategy of shorting operating mines with the aim to reduce spod prices and reduce take over target purchase costs.
The real fact of the matter is that until Australia takes the bull by the horns, the bull will continue to chase us away down the street until we are too tired to run anymore and simply give everything up.
