@oldtimer2 - $500k base salary and then upto a $250k bonus (subject to KPI) plus a Golden Welcome in Year 1 of $100k plus 750,000 shares at 10c plus access to the executive share plan - for a company with a market cap below $30m.

As a Comparison from 2018 annual reports:

Andrew Alcock CEO at Hub24 - $401,089 Salary plus bonus of $265k plus other bits and bobs for a total package of $875k.
Matt Heine CEO at Netwealth - $479,952 salary plus bonus of $150k plus other bits and bobs for a total package of $670k

Now the market cap of Netwealth yesterday was $1.652 Billion and Hub 24 was $649 Million and XPL was $28m.

I think the salary is a monster salary, well certainly out of whack compared to his peers in the market running companies much much larger than XPL.
