Stag - I agree that we need to get the global economy back on an even keel and that means ending the trade war but with an agreement that resolves outstanding issues relating to IP and protectionism. It is in the Chinese interest to work toward these ends. However I believe they see Trump as someone that they cannot work with in good faith. A person who has walked away from signed agreements of predecessors without any discussion is not a smart negotiator because it gives the impression he places no value in agreements signed in good faith.
So it seems to me the Chinese are waiting till the outcome of the 2020 election. And the wait it seems may hasten the arrival of the upcoming recession which will affect the election outcome. So a win/win for the Chinese.
Like ever drought ends with a thunderstorm, every recession ends with an improvement in the economy and those companies who can outlast the recession reap the benefits. CVN may well be a major beneficiary in this scenario if it is not gobbled up by one of the bigger players.
