ridge - new testament - good postsa Ridge

    G'day folks,

There have been some good posts in this thread.

    Snooker

    Indeed there have been.

In one Snooker admitted to the frailty of his beliefs which I reckon took some doing. However, Snooks you talk of mental giants before you; I think you sell yourself short, you are clearly an intelligent individual.

I wouldn't call it frailty, although I do understand where you are coming from. I think the better definition might be that I accept my limitations and therefore am satisfied to piggy back on others who were/are not exposed to the limitations that I am.

I needed to clear that point as I didn't want your term "frailty" to be misinterpreted as questioning my beliefs. That could very well imply that somehow I could tip over and reject them....which could not be further from the truth.

Generally, I would say that when a person gets caught up with their self worth and can't see their own inadequacies, and therefore rely entirely on their own brainpower and nothing else.....these people could very well be.............. the most frail of all.

As for the ice age and the bospherous theory these events occured long befor the episode in the bible is timed. At the time of the ice age certainly large tracts of water gravitated to the poles; the north sea was a lush meadow in the summer where mammoths grazed and a frozen waste in the winter. Nobody was into making boats back then (neanderthals' still existed). As for the potential opening of the Black Sea, certainly well befor biblical times.

That would be entirely correct if one did did believe in creation. However, to those who do, it would not pose as a contadiction........simply because we .......at least I do.......that the creator could very well have created the world in the very format that we see it now, with all the external appearances of age.....as a test....or a hurdle to whether we believe in him or not.

In other words ...can we separate the wheat from the chaffe.

It's as if he deliberately placed stumbling blocks.......mirages that we can really see, touch, feel and even ponder about....to test ones capacity to arrive at the ultimate conclusion.

Again, a question of faith.........and a belief in a higher being.

And you know what? His stumbling blocks are beauties!
