Troopy sounds like he follows a thing called the building code like everyone has to, its the law. Don't mention high-rise units and their recent issues,
lets compare apples with apples, domestic houses, the market FBR is targeting.

Confusing statement you make there on a couple of points. Can you please give an example from your experience, as to how domestic builders tend to be very risk averse and take a conservative approach to building? Remembering in your reply that when comparing the same style of build FBR can do, domestic builders are only building a for 4 sided house, not a 6 story high-rise canter levered off a hill.

Which brings me to your 2nd aspersion which I'd like you to clarify. Can you give an example of a domestic builder, from your experience, that has 'struggled to come up with an innovative solution when faced with a complex problem'? Bricks have been layed for thousands of years, so who exactly is guilty of complicating it?

FBR are'nt targeting the niche high end custom market, its just simple 4 sided houses. That is something they're still yet to master and pass any standard or code in this country after close to $80 million spent. That thing they knocked up on private land doesn'tt count for anything imo.
