The chemical grade 6% Li20 that Grenbushes sells to Albermale and Tianqi (their JV partners) is converted to lithium chemicals by converters owned by Tianqi and Albermale in China, from my own understanding. Going forward they will be producing hydroxide at their to be built facilities at Kwinana and Kemerton respectively.
The TG products from Greenbushes grade above and below this 6%grade CG spodumene, but Greenbushes producers far far more CG than TG and the fact they are using floatation is because that is a key to their 'recovery rates' and reducing deleterious elements so that they can supply the hydroxide market. Case in point - their facilities in WA will be hydroxide driven and hydroxide needs 6% CG spodumene with low deleterious elements.
