If we are to believe OGC management statements the company has been achieving high quality results so far as the environment and the welfare of the villagers are concerned. The attempts to hold up the company and to claim environmental harm is not new. In the past instances the company has come out on top and its environmental record has been endorsed with various awards. So the tactics of preventing work to continue at the mine with the blockades must be designed to frustrate a very effective company for a purpose. Whether that purpose is to make sure the company finds a way to make the locals happy and things can proceed on only company management are privy to at the moment.
We must presume that the company is "working behind the scenes"
Remember Didipo is but one mine (certainly a very useful mine) in a very profitable company.
