I agree, the EV available today are very expensive and somewhat inconvienient (versus ICE). Yet, Australians are buying them. No great volume as far as I am aware but I am noticing them more and more (and I am only noticing Tesla vehicles as I don't know what the other manufacturer's EVs look like).

What happens when the volumes go up and the prices go down? Reduced ongoing costs (fuel etc) and yes the green benefit. Then think about a Government subsidy (such as happening in China) for buying EV over ICE?

I appreciate all those people making comments about the energy (grid) requirements etc. but I don't think those responsible are taking notes from HC. If the energy infrastructure is inadequate (and I'm not saying it is), then the Government will be forced to enhance/upgrade - I haven't really gone out on a limb here. China's recent growth of EVs means that either the infrastructure is growing with it or it is sufficient - I'm using my own logic here - it would of made news if that wasn't the case.

I don't understand how you are trying to smear EV due to inadequate solar? Solar is crap therefore it can't charge EVs, therfore EVs are crap? I think you are stretching. You think EVs are crap - ok then - it's not a competition.
