See my earlier posts where I mentioned this. It is pretty much suitable for anywhere subcutaneous tissue has been lost and surgeons will not care one iota as to whether it has "FDA approval" for this particular condition or not. They are practical people and if it works, they will try it. It hasn't yet dawned on the analysts at the brokerages though, since most of them have never worked in medicine. So yes, the market is far bigger than KS imagines.
A practical example in another field is where a drug which has been approved to treat cancer (Avastin) has similar mechanism of action to a drug (Lucentis) used to treat a serious eye condition that leads to blindness. Because Lucentis is very expensive and Avastin is cheap, eye surgeons often administer Avastin instead of Lucentis to people who can't afford the more expensive drug. FDA approved or not, it works so they use it...
What would happen if Polynovo managed to use a 3d printer to print out scaffold shapes or use molds for particular body parts...
Could be an interesting future application?
