The funny part is, in 2017, SQM announced to expand their annual capacity from 70kt to 120kt in 2019, further expand to 180kt in 2021.

But reality is, "
SQM produced 45,100 tonnes of lithium products in 2018, and appears  set to produce between 46,000 and 48,000 tonnes in 2019.

The commentary suggests SQM will sell close to 63,000 tonnes of lithium in 2020, and the Chilean company appears undeterred by the notion it may be adding to an oversupply of the battery commodity."

Brine producers expansion plan is always a joke.
