Sorry King, while we agree it is a difficult problem, I have to disagree that means we don't need to try to deal with it.

We have around 1000 deaths on roads, and 100000 abortions. We don't leave it up to people to decide how fast to drive or how much alcohol they can have in their bloodstream while driving, we take action.

Still people die but we save thousands of deaths by having speed cameras, compulsory seat belts, random breath testing, etc. which costs a lot of money. I calculate this saves around 3-6000 deaths annually.

Yet our states seem to be happy to allow 100 X that number of babies to be deliberately killed. And they make it very difficult for pro-life advocates to even speak to mothers as they enter abortion clinics.

I am not naive enough to think we will prevent all babies from being aborted and there are certainly a proportion where mothers life is in jeopardy, which is a form of self defence. Self defence is an admissable reason to kill someone.

The way the laws have been framed a doctor does not have freedom of conscience to decline to refer a patient to a doctor who will willingly murder a child, on request. Can you refer me to a hit man who will kill someone I decide should not live, without a twinge of guilt.

I believe we need to stand before God to explain our actions (and inactions), after we die. God alone will decide whether we spend eternity in Hell or Heaven. I get that not everyone believes this, or chooses to ignore it, and that is because God gave us free will. Animals don't have free will.

But even atheists usually don't condone murder so I really find it hard to see why support for abortion is even a fraction of what it is purported to be.

I think the NSW Bill is headed for defeat, and I look forward to seeing repeals of other States laws, just as some states in US are repealing laws passed since Roe v Wade decision of SCOTUS. It will take another SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v Wade, but I think that is likely in next 12 months, and it will be a Presidential election winning issue for Donald Trump, especially if there is a recession.
