I'm not so sure that they are obsessed but let's say you're right, how do we know that these people are not just patsies working for zionists? I see through all the crap in the M.E. and it's such a treacherous & duplicitous realm these people live in!
IMO, zionists need violence to stay relevant. Imagine if iran, hezbollah & hamas (let's face it, hamas is not a threat at all) were to sign peace treaties and say to Israel, forget the past, let's be friends; the top zionists running Israel would have to get real jobs and pay taxes instead of receiving bucket loads of money from America and Jewish donors around the world. That's a totally unacceptable scenario to them so maybe they have to keep on reminding us that the threat is real by creating the threat?
