IMO, the US will do whatever it takes to retain their current "boss" position of the world...be it economic, financial or military. But I also believe the genie is finally out of the bottle and she can't (won't?) be put back into it.
I believe the world (generally) are tired of working hard to grow their economies - only to have them threatened time and again by the "boss". I believe they are tired of being tangled up in wars that have been conjured up by those who reside many miles away - but whose economies depend on those wars. I also believe they are tired of having to deal in USD's when the transactions involved have nothing to do with the US.
No, it is clear to me the immensely privileged US have abused that privilege and are still trying to. One way or another, the time is nearing where they will be held to account. The game is just about up.
Meanwhile, ole yella and his mates just sit there quietly waiting...
