Frantic I think you do get my point but anyway to answer your question the temperature trend depends on the period over which you measure it because it fluctuates over long time periods. At present it would be fair to say there is a slight short term (decade) downward trend, a medium term (century)upward trend, and no long term (millenia) trend because temperatures over the past thousand years have experienced periods both well below and well above the present day.
