Seems to me that clutching at straws might be a better metaphor.
But he still has a point....
As a company, we are in the best financial position ever (that I've seen) and we are in the most politically hot climate- waste to Energy.
Now posters may jump up and down, saying that the sp isn't doing what they want it to, and I totally agree, but that doesn't mean that it won't.
It is interesting that they announced this on Friday night- maybe so people won't over react?
throw the baby out with the bathwater, if you prefer?
