All of the AGW enthusiasts need a panic to add a little meaning to their lives,it seems.Notice how many people get off on an emergency of some sort,it sort of breaks the boredom of everyday life. Makes them feel a little more worthy and alive for prattling on about it,bothering friends and relatives alike.Wars seem to bring out the same thing in many people. A call to action, etc overrides the boredom of a nice safe urban life and gets the juices flowing, it seems.
I only bring this up because these panics are not new, in the 60's we had the overpopulation panic, the 70's brought the resource depletion panic(full on Club of Rome report and all, looks so quaint now) in the 80's we had the global cooling scare(by one of the current AGW aficionados Dr David Schneider) then in the 90's we had Ozone depletion and now we have AGW.
We seem to forget the previous bogus panic and feel that this is the real thing, despite all the previous let downs.
Even Blind Freddy is capable of asking simple, yet important questions such as what caused the end of all the previous Ice Ages,(and mini Ice Ages eg. a few
hundred tears ago), what caused the Roman Warm Period, the Medieval Warm Period(and many others), what is causing Global Warming on Mars and other planets. Answering these questions will involve natural cycles. Things that we have absolutely no control over (except for those who mistake computer models for "reality " and think that rewriting the program will have any effect
    on the real world)
ADW is a great tool for politicians to mobilise the masses, control them and tax them. The last thing that the global elite want are large numbers of people thinking for themselves, immune to fear based conditioning and therefore uncontrollable.
Notice too, how anyone that doubts this new orthodoxy of AGW is considered
to be arguing for pollution. Of course, pollution is undesirable, from both an efficiency point of view, and (I think that this is the main on for most people) an aesthetic point of view. I myself don't think that pollution is much of a problem, at least in Australia. Perhaps in China and India but all that they are doing is going through their own Industrial Revolution, which we in the west have done.
Oh, Imperial, rense.com is brilliant, isn't it?
