would say that the traders have a fair better grasp on the realties facing these companies as opposed to the investors, ‘traders’ trade, sp goes up and with the ‘great’ story investors funnel in. Traders ‘milk’ it for a while then leave well before the realties become apparent to the investors, who meanwhile have become ‘emotionally’ attached to their shares and fail to see the red flags.

in effect, imo, they are (both) necessary to keep a company alive, what savvy investor would buy in on the vaccines?, for example, bearing in mind the realties (of those no need to repeat), traders move in, help create a picture of the company on the move and long term investors enter and ‘left’ holding the bag; harsh reality that massive amounts of money needed and a partner rarely found in the ‘early’ days becomes quite apparent after many CRs and years.
