The trade war and Trump's antics have probably had a minor impact on the SP, and as you say, the trade war would has little to do with PET as most of the anticipated revenue is from work within China.

But even on days where the market has been stable or positive PET often takes a serious hit.

I've been done over in situation like this before: lots of potential, glowing broker recommendations and then a big dive in the SP. Remember PET peaked at $1.60 a few weeks ago, and is $1.24 at present. That is a huge drop given the "potential".
