All I read is an attack on posters for your perceived quality of their posts. Better not to use terms like "nasty" and "smug" and "irritating" etc. It will get you precisely nowhere. I have found the quality of posts her to be very good, in general, and certainly posters aren't obliged to post. I, personally, am grateful for their efforts.
