GNX would make an excellent fit to IFN.

The power contract with Energy Australia is non-binding at this stage. If IFN hopped in and bought 19.9% for say, $20m, (GNX MC $86m) it could probably scoop up the off-take agreement, capital-lite and all that. It might have to stand in the market and offer other holders the same price. The GNX share register is wide open.

Kidston pumped hydro hasn't been built yet. Us little shareholders cannot know the batteries V. pumped hydro cost equation - it may be batteries are already cheaper. I am way less keen on GNX's solar as it competes with price-insensitive household rooftop solar. I would be tempted to skip the Kidston solar project if IFN's nearby Forsayth FNQ WF project makes it in the Qld government's Renewables 400 reverse auction.

The NAIF finance is very attractive and the Qld government commitment to build a power line (T&C unknown) removes another barrier.

If RR & team wanted GNX, I'd back them. GNX combined with IFN's existing kit and assets under development would be a very attractive business.

    All speculation, but fun.

    Ash
