Back in 2014 Ohio / Mayo got the trial phase 1 sponsored by a private company. Not sure about now, but it still could be funded by US government funds as IMU is not mentioned as sponsor. Same for the CF 33 trial which is funded by US grants as well.
For anything else IMU always said they will use partners after a successful phase 2.
Exiting times ahead, just a huge amount of patience required.
