I always scrap off any food - not likely with me - then rinse under running water and straight into the dish washer.
Cups and mugs are different when it is just me and they get used more than once.
I have a Bosch series 6 super silence - and boy is it silent. There is a gurgle at the beginning as it drains any water then the
rest u don't here.
u could even have it on with guests present.
