Yep, I understand the mechanics as you have stated them. However, say STO wants 40% and Total decides not to proceed. You'd think that MAY would be left with 60% of the asset and 50% of the cost...what does MAY do then? I'd like to know if this can happen, or whether the option is written well enough that it is free carry or nothing.
