Done from memory - initial stories referred to 5 years only.
I am quite sure later public responses would try to make the initial claim less serious eg 2035 rather than 5 years.
Also we have stopped seeing reports on the very early days of this scare mongering where climate scientists were openly discussing to what degree they would be dishonest in their emails to each other. Memories dim as time marches on but the fact remains they have been caught discussing how dishonest they were going to be.
