I haven't been in the game that long to know. However, I can speculate. Perhaps, they're just making the buy-side look better than what it really is. Perhaps, they're protecting the current SP so that sellers don't dump at the end of each day. Or perhaps they are wasting everyone else's time and will only actually buy on news. In any way, this sort of activity is manipulative. The ASX allows it which is manipulative in itself.
